Microsoft has released its Office 2010 suite of business applications to manufacturing. Software Assurance downloads of Office 2010 will begin April 27, and beta testers have judged it an improvement over the current Office version. Microsoft Office 2010 is expected in stores in June. Web versions will compete with Google's free online apps.

Is the GeForce GTX 480 fashionably late, or just plain late? ATI has been tooting the DirectX 11 horn for quite some time now, while their competitors labored on a rebuttal. At long last, Nvidia's first DirectX 11 graphics card is here -- and for better or worse, it's quite a beast.
The card is based on Nvidia's new Fermi architecture. The feature-list is considerable: over 3 billion transistors, double the processing units of its predecessors (though ATI and Nvidia count these differently), and a strong emphasis on geometric realism. Nvidia's Fermi page is chocked full of information and demonstrations, and includes white papers detailing the strides they've made.

Internet Explorer 9 Offers Speed, HTML 5 Microsoft wants the world to abandon Internet Explorer 6 and upgrade to IE7 or IE8 for security reasons, but the company says Web and application developers will want to upgrade to the next version of Microsoft's Web browser, IE9, for its optimized performance and HTML 5 support.

Imagine picking up a Nintendo DS and playing games in 3D without the clunky, dork-tastic glasses. Nintendo says a handheld gaming device that'll do just that will launch in Japan before the end of March 2011, and that it'll reveal its so-called "Nintendo 3DS" to the world for the first time at E3 2010 this summer.

The swedish Pc magazine (PC för alla) has done a bunch of browser testings and prestanda measurements. The purpose was to see how the browsers follows the webstandards, and how fast they read Javascript and CSS.
